You can get this in good quality delis. It’s not a mushroom version of tomato ketchup. It has a thin consistency and a tangy mushroom flavour with complex spicy undertones. It’s concentrated concoction of strong flavours including mushroom and is designed to add a bit of weight to the flavour of pies and puddings. Works really well as a marinade too. Stick this in your vegetable stir-fry side occasionally for in interesting kick of flavour.
