A Berry Good Breakfast Idea
Sorry about the pun, couldn’t resist. How’s this for a breakfast idea. A delicious hot reduction of tasty berries, served warm with a dollop of fat free yoghurt and a few fresh raspberries.

The idea here was to cook down fresh fruit with some nutritious high fibre grain. In this one I’ve used oat-bran, but am going to be trying out flax-seed and wheatgerm. I’ve used 200g raspberries, 100g blackberries and 25g oat-bran. It’s kind of like a really fruity porridge. This is packed full of goodness and slow release energy. A true breakfast of champions. There is also no added sugar, but if you did want it a bit sweeter, a little squeeze of Agave Syrup or a drizzle of honey would do the trick. Stick it all in a pan with 100ml of water, and gently boil together for 15 mins. Easy, I’m gonna try a few more of these over the week so keep checking back. Blueberries, blackcurrants, goji berries, gooseberries, rhubarb… I’ve got loads of ideas to take this further. What a great way kick start your day and your metabolism.

Your photos make food look DELICIOUS! Have you got a blender? You could try making some breakfast smoothies- you can get really creative with recipes like adding avocados to make it nice and creamy and/or if you’re brave, raw egg to add froth and protein. No need for sugar either, the fruit makes it sweet or you can add fruit juice too. And of course,…flax for flax lovers like me. I’ll be interested to see what you come up with!
PS. A decent bread machine would roughly cost 100CAD or 50pounds. Good luck!
